Verdict: Pick TrackWise Digital if complaint handling with a reportability decision tree and eMDR, or an ISO 14971 risk file linked to CAPAs, matters most, you already work on Salesforce, and you agree the renewal term before signing. Pick Veeva Vault QMS if you want documents, training and quality processes on one documented platform, with field corrective actions, EU PSURs, a validation package each release and ISO 27001, especially if you already use Veeva for regulatory or clinical work.

## TrackWise Digital

- Overall score: 5.1 out of 10 (#19 of 20 systems tested)
- Price: on request (No public price (Oct 2026). Sparta's own AppExchange listing shows a $200 per user per month starting price (last updated 2022), but there's no second signal for an estimate. Implementation is quoted per project.)
- Best for: You run quality for a larger device, diagnostics or combined device-and-pharma company and want proven complaint, CAPA, eMDR and risk workflows on a validated cloud platform.
- Watch out: Prices and hosting region aren't published, there are no design controls, and the contract renews for 36 months unless you give notice.
- Maker: Sparta Systems, Inc. (Honeywell), https://www.spartasystems.com/trackwise/
- Last checked: October 2026
- Full review: https://bestqmssoftware.com/reviews/trackwise/

Scores out of 10:
- Compliance coverage: 7.0 (SOC 2 Type II; pre-validated processes)
- Design controls and traceability: 2.5 (ISO 14971 risk module; no design controls found)
- Usability: 8.0. 3.9 / 5 on Capterra (Ease of use, 15 reviews; capped at 8 (review drive))
- Support and onboarding: 8.0. 4.1 / 5 on Capterra (Customer service, 15 reviews; implementation included in QuickTrack; capped at 8 (review drive))
- Community sentiment: 8.0 (4.3/5 on Capterra (15 reviews); capped at 8 (review drive))
- Affordability: 4.0. on request (AppExchange listing: from $200 per user per month (2022))
- Price transparency: 1.0. No public price (Never published on the vendor's site)
- Try before you buy: 5.0. No free trial (Recorded demos behind a form; live demo)
- Contract and lock-in: 4.0. Term set per order (Renews for 36 months by default; CSV export on request)
- Time to go live: 4.0. 3–6 months (Vendor case studies; no SOP templates)
- EU data residency: 3.0. Not stated (Salesforce and AWS; DPA on request; SCCs in the terms)
- Budget predictability: 7.0. No renewal-price clause (No list prices ever published; no hike reports found)

## Veeva Vault QMS

- Overall score: 5.3 out of 10 (#16 of 20 systems tested)
- Price: on request (No public price, Oct 2026. Vendr's buyer data for QMS, QualityDocs and Training points to roughly $54–56k a year for 10 users, but that is one source from larger buyers. Implementation is sold separately.)
- Best for: You run a large or multi-site device, diagnostics or combined device-and-pharma company and want quality processes, documents and training on the same platform as your regulatory and clinical systems.
- Watch out: Prices aren't published, and design controls, UDI submissions and vigilance reporting need separate Veeva products, so small device teams pay enterprise prices for a partial QMS.
- Maker: Veeva Systems Inc., https://www.veeva.com/medtech/products/quality/quality-management-system/
- Last checked: October 2026
- Full review: https://bestqmssoftware.com/reviews/veeva-vault-qms/

Scores out of 10:
- Compliance coverage: 8.5 (Public help center; IQ/OQ per release; ISO 27001 and SOC 2)
- Design controls and traceability: 2.5 (Design history as documents; requirements only in Veeva PLM)
- Usability: 5.0. No G2 sub-score (Too few ratings; neutral value used)
- Support and onboarding: 5.0. No G2 sub-score (Neutral value used; implementation is a paid service)
- Community sentiment: 8.0 (4.1/5 (10 reviews) and 4.5/5 (14) on G2; capped at 8 (review drive))
- Affordability: 4.0. on request (Vendr line items suggest about $54–56k a year for 10 users)
- Price transparency: 1.0. No public price (No past price list found)
- Try before you buy: 5.0. No free trial (Recorded demos and live demo)
- Contract and lock-in: 8.0. Typically one year (CSV and document export documented; public API)
- Time to go live: 5.0. Not published (Implementation sold as a service; no SOP templates)
- EU data residency: 7.0. Germany available (How the location is chosen isn't public; DPA on request)
- Budget predictability: 4.0. Some contracts rise up to 4% a year (Lower of 4% or CPI at renewal, per Veeva's annual report)

## Comparison

Both are enterprise quality systems with roots in pharma that also serve device and diagnostics companies. TrackWise has been sold since at least 2001. Honeywell bought its maker, Sparta Systems, in February 2021, and the cloud version, TrackWise Digital, is built on Salesforce.[^tw-wayback-2001][^tw-hon-2023][^tw-twd] Veeva Systems, listed on the New York Stock Exchange, sells its quality products as separate applications on its Vault platform.[^vv-10k][^vv-mt-quality] TrackWise Digital is strongest on complaints, eMDR, risk and supplier quality; Veeva on documented complaint, CAPA, field-action and supplier workflows next to documents and training.[^tw-datasheet][^vv-help-qms]

### Who each is built for

TrackWise Digital fits larger device, diagnostics and combined device-and-pharma companies; SGS rolled it out across 17 sites.[^tw-sgs] Much of its language is pharma GMP: deviations, out-of-specification results and batch release.[^tw-home] Its QuickTrack package, added in March 2026, targets startups and small and medium-sized companies.[^tw-quicktrack]

Veeva Vault QMS fits large and multi-site companies, especially those that make both devices and drugs. Cardinal Health, with about 46,500 employees, uses it across its pharmaceutical and medical device businesses.[^vv-cardinal] It shares a platform with Veeva's regulatory and clinical products.[^vv-mt-quality] Veeva's own product for small device companies is QuickVault, a separate application we haven't reviewed.[^vv-quickvault]

### Price and contract terms

Neither publishes prices. Honeywell's pricing page says TrackWise Digital's cost depends on user licences, processes and implementation.[^tw-pricing] Its own AppExchange listing shows $200 per user per month as the lowest starting price, last updated in March 2022, which is about $24,000 a year for 10 users before implementation. It is a vendor figure with no independent signal next to it, so we don't estimate from it.[^tw-appexchange] QuickTrack includes implementation; elsewhere it's priced into each quote.[^tw-quicktrack][^tw-pricing]

For Veeva, Vendr's underlying data shows a fixed "Quality Base" subscription of about $24,200 to $24,600, plus per-unit prices for QMS, QualityDocs and Training. If those are yearly per-user prices, 10 users would cost roughly $54,000 to $56,000 a year before implementation. That is one source, from buyers with far more than 10 users, so we don't estimate from it either.[^vv-vendr] Implementation is sold as professional services.[^vv-10k]

TrackWise Digital's fees are invoiced annually in advance and can't be cancelled. The contract renews for 36 months unless the order form says otherwise, you must give notice 45 days before the term ends, and the agreement says nothing about renewal prices.[^tw-terms] Veeva's customer terms aren't public. Its annual report says subscriptions are "typically for a term of one year", and that some contracts rise at renewal by the lower of 4% or US inflation, without saying whether quality contracts do.[^vv-10k]

On exit, TrackWise Digital returns data only if you ask within 30 days: CSV files from Salesforce, and files from AWS-hosted modules by secure transfer. Its agreement has no escrow clause, and Sparta can transfer it without your consent.[^tw-terms] Veeva customers can export records, audit history and document metadata to CSV, and documents with their renditions, using built-in tools; with no public terms, we can't say what happens to your data if Veeva is sold or closes.[^vv-help-loader][^vv-help-export]

### Complaints, vigilance and post-market

Both cover FDA reporting, in different places. TrackWise's complaints module covers intake, investigation, risk assessment, reportability review, CAPA and trending, with a decision tree that identifies where an adverse event must be reported and sets the deadline. Its datasheet names FDA eMDR submission, and EU MIR reporting appears only on a marketing page.[^tw-complaints][^tw-datasheet][^tw-meddev] In QuickTrack, complaints is an optional module.[^tw-quicktrack]

Veeva QMS has a complaint intake step, field corrective actions under 21 CFR 806 and EU PSUR preparation.[^vv-help-complaints][^vv-help-fca][^vv-help-psur] FDA eMDR and EU MIR files come from Product Surveillance, an add-on that Veeva lists as "Early", with 1 to 10 customers.[^vv-help-ps][^vv-mt-ps] UDI submissions are in Veeva RIM, another product; we found no UDI features in TrackWise Digital.[^vv-rn-26r2][^tw-review]

### CAPA, nonconformance and suppliers

TrackWise Digital's CAPA has automated routing, notification, escalation and approval, and nonconformances and deviations carry investigations and trending.[^tw-datasheet] Veeva QMS delivers CAPA, deviation, audit and change control processes, and incidents can be promoted to a nonconformance after triage.[^vv-help-qms][^vv-help-incidents] Neither documents a disposition step for nonconforming product in its workflow documentation.[^tw-review][^vv-review]

Both let suppliers take part. TrackWise Digital suppliers can answer audit findings in a portal.[^tw-sqm] Veeva gives suppliers and contract manufacturers access to quality processes and scores each supplier in a risk assessment.[^vv-help-qms][^vv-help-supplier]

### Documents and training

Veeva's QualityDocs handles document change control, Read & Understood workflows and periodic reviews, and documents can be co-edited in Word, Excel and PowerPoint through Microsoft 365.[^vv-help-qd][^vv-help-coauth] Its Training product assigns training by role and can include quizzes.[^vv-help-training] TrackWise Digital's documents follow rule-based review, annotation and approval workflows, and training plans include tests and due dates; we found no Word or Google Docs integration.[^tw-datasheet][^tw-review]

### Design controls and risk

Neither manages design controls as linked records, and we found no IEC 62304 features or Jira and Git integration in either. TrackWise Digital's risk module keeps a risk file per product with hazard analysis, FMEA and a residual-risk matrix, linked to nonconformances and CAPAs.[^tw-risk] Veeva QMS supports risk matrices with ISO 14971-style probabilities, risk registers and process FMEA, with no design risk file linked to requirements and tests. Its requirements and trace matrices are in Veeva PLM, a separate product.[^vv-help-risk][^vv-plm]

### Platform, hosting and validation

TrackWise Digital runs on Salesforce, and some modules run on AWS or other providers.[^tw-terms] Honeywell doesn't say where customer data is hosted; the DPA is only available on request, and the service agreement allows transfers to the US under standard contractual clauses.[^tw-compliance][^tw-terms] Veeva hosts on AWS, with Vault servers in the US, Japan and Germany, and publishes its subprocessor list. It doesn't say how a customer's location is chosen, and its DPA is offered only on request.[^vv-pods][^vv-subprocessors][^vv-privacy] EU buyers should get the hosting region in writing from either vendor.

Sparta Systems has a SOC 2 Type 2 report covering September 2024 to August 2025, and we found no ISO 27001 certificate.[^tw-soc2][^tw-compliance] Veeva is audited every year against ISO 27001 and publishes a SOC 2 Type II report.[^vv-trust] TrackWise Digital's preconfigured processes are described as pre-validated.[^tw-quicktrack] Veeva performs and documents IQ and OQ for each general release and publishes a validation package.[^vv-releases]

### What users say and go-live

Both have few reviews and review-drive caps in our scores. TrackWise Digital has 15 Capterra reviews, 4.3/5 overall, with 3.9 for ease of use; Capterra labels 14 of them as incentivized, and 9 arrived within nine days in June 2018.[^tw-capterra] Veeva has 4.1/5 from 10 reviews on G2 for QMS and 4.5/5 from 14 for QualityDocs, with no sub-scores; most are labelled as incentivized.[^vv-g2][^vv-g2-qd]

TrackWise Digital took three months for SGS's first site and six months for a 50-person device company.[^tw-sgs][^tw-revelle] Veeva publishes no implementation time and recommends a Veeva team or partner for data migration.[^vv-help-migration]

### Choose TrackWise Digital if…

- complaint handling with a reportability decision tree and eMDR is central to your work;
- you want an ISO 14971 risk file linked to nonconformances and CAPAs;
- you already run Salesforce, and you agree the renewal term and price before signing.

### Choose Veeva Vault QMS if…

- you want documents, training and quality processes on one platform with a public help center;
- field corrective actions and EU PSURs matter to you, along with a validation package each release and ISO 27001;
- you already use Veeva for regulatory or clinical work.
