By Tom Muller, updated October 6, 2026
Part of Best QMS Software (https://bestqmssoftware.com/), an independent comparison of QMS software for medical device companies. Method: https://bestqmssoftware.com/how-we-rank/

A configurable, no-code QMS platform for mid-market and enterprise manufacturers, with starting prices on the vendor's site. Design controls, risk files and software lifecycle get little support, and apps beyond the core five cost extra.

## At a glance

- Overall score: 6.7 out of 10 (#7 of 20 systems tested)
- Price: from $26k/yr (Vendor-published starting prices (Oct 2026): Core from $26k, Operational Control from $32k, Enterprise Transformation from $47k, billed annually per the Capterra listing. Seat counts not stated. Add-on apps, implementation, validation and migration priced separately.)
- Best for: You run a medical device or combined device-and-pharma manufacturing operation and want a configurable QMS that your quality team can adapt without code, with workflows for nonconformances, CAPA, suppliers and device history records.
- Watch out: Design controls, ISO 14971 risk files and IEC 62304 are barely covered, apps beyond the core five are add-ons, and there is no trial, no public contract and no documented exit export.
- Maker: Interneer, Inc. (Intellect), https://intellect.com
- Last checked: October 2026
- Full review: https://bestqmssoftware.com/reviews/intellect-qms/

Scores out of 10:
- Compliance coverage: 7.5 (Core five apps documented; change, complaints, supplier and DHR are add-ons)
- Design controls and traceability: 2.5 (Design controls only on a marketing page; generic risk and FMEA apps)
- Usability: 8.0. 4.5 / 5 on Capterra (Ease of use, 84 reviews; capped at 8 (review drive))
- Support and onboarding: 8.0. 4.7 / 5 on Capterra (Customer service, 84 reviews; capped at 8 (review drive))
- Community sentiment: 8.0 (4.6/5 on Capterra (84 reviews); capped at 8 (review drive))
- Affordability: 5.5. from $26k/yr (Core from $26k a year; add-on apps and services extra)
- Price transparency: 6.0. Starting prices only (Three plans priced 'starting at'; no seat counts)
- Try before you buy: 5.0. No free trial (Recorded video tours and live demo)
- Contract and lock-in: 4.0. Not public (No public customer terms; no documented exit export)
- Time to go live: 8.0. 4–8 weeks (Vendor average from a 2019 brochure; no SOP templates)
- EU data residency: 8.0. EU region selectable (No public DPA or subprocessor list)
- Budget predictability: 10.0. No public terms (Starting prices published; no price history or renewal reports found)

## What we like

- Starting prices for three plans are published on the vendor's own site: from $26,000, $32,000 and $47,000 (October 2026).
- No-code configuration: reviewers repeatedly praise how far quality teams can adapt workflows, forms and apps without IT.
- Product videos show working apps for document control, training, nonconformances, CAPA, audits, change control, complaints, suppliers and device history records.
- ISO 27001:2022 certificate valid to December 2026, Part 11 e-signatures, and a choice of US, Canadian or EU hosting.
- Also covers GxP manufacturing (deviations, batch records, validation) and EHS on the same platform.

## What to watch

- No design-control app, a generic risk register and FMEA instead of an ISO 14971 risk file, and nothing for IEC 62304 or Jira and Git.
- Only five core apps come with the base offering; change control, complaints, supplier management and DHR are catalogue apps sold as add-ons.
- Implementation, validation and data migration are scoped and priced separately, and no amounts are published.
- No free trial, no public customer agreement, no data processing agreement and no documented full export at the end of a contract.
- Some device and pharma reviewers report that the out-of-the-box apps don't match their workflows and that configuration has a learning curve.

About the price: Vendor-published starting prices (Oct 2026): Core from $26k, Operational Control from $32k, Enterprise Transformation from $47k, billed annually per the Capterra listing. Seat counts not stated. Add-on apps, implementation, validation and migration priced separately.

## What is Intellect QMS?

Intellect QMS is a cloud quality management system from Interneer, Inc., which trades as Intellect. The company says it was founded in 2000 in Los Angeles.[^company][^tos] It sells to "mid-market and enterprise" manufacturers and life-science companies.[^qms]

Medical devices are one of several markets, next to pharma, labs, automotive, aerospace, electronics, food and beverage and energy.[^company] The product is built on a no-code platform: quality teams start from pre-built apps and change forms and workflows with drag-and-drop tools.[^apps] Since buying UK company Zaptic in November 2025, Intellect also sells connected frontline worker and EHS software on the same platform.[^zaptic][^pricing]

## Who Intellect QMS is for

Intellect fits manufacturers that want to shape the QMS around their own processes and have someone who can spend time on configuration. Reviewers praise how configurable it is, and several say upkeep needs a dedicated person.[^g2][^g2-worth] It also suits companies that make both devices and pharma products, because deviation, batch record and validation apps sit on the same platform.[^video-deviation][^video-vv]

Look elsewhere if you:

- **Build software or need design controls.** There is no design-control app in the catalogue, and we found nothing for IEC 62304, Jira or Git.[^apps][^devices]
- **Are a small team on a tight budget.** The cheapest plan starts at $26,000 a year, before add-on apps and services.[^pricing]
- **Want SOP templates.** Intellect ships workflow apps, not procedure templates, and one reviewer says there are almost no prebuilt forms or templates.[^capterra]

## Intellect QMS pricing

Intellect publishes starting prices on its pricing page (checked 5 October 2026):[^pricing]

- **Core:** starting at $26,000.
- **Operational Control:** starting at $32,000. Adds lean operations, EHS and document control in the plan table.
- **Enterprise Transformation:** starting at $47,000. Adds enterprise support and an enterprise control center.
- **Tailor your platform:** custom pricing.

The page doesn't state seat counts or a billing period. Intellect's Capterra listing says billing is annual.[^capterra-listing] The plan table crosses out document control on Core, while the QMS page says the core offering includes five applications, with document control listed first.[^pricing][^qms][^apps]

Several costs come on top:

- **Add-on apps.** The core offering is the platform plus five apps (document control, training, nonconformance, CAPA and audits). Change management, complaints, supplier management, device history records and risk are catalogue apps, and "add-on applications" are extra.[^apps][^qms]
- **Services.** Professional services start at $300 an hour, and validation and project work need scoping.[^ps] Onboarding, data migration and go-live support are listed as implementation services with no price.[^support]
- **User growth.** One reviewer writes that the initial cost was low but that licence and support fees "can quickly increase" as more employees need access.[^g2-cost]

We found no archived copy of the pricing page, so we couldn't check how prices have changed.

## Features

We checked features against Intellect's product pages, data sheets and the transcripts of its product videos. Intellect has no public help center.

### Document control and training

Document control handles revisions, approvals, periodic reviews and a full audit trail of approvals.[^video-doc] Training tracks certifications and skills, flags records about to expire, and can generate quizzes from documents with AI.[^video-training][^qms] Approvals use Part 11 electronic signatures, or DocuSign if you prefer.[^connectors]

### Nonconformances, CAPA and audits

These three are core apps. Nonconformances are scored by risk, can raise supplier corrective action requests and escalate to CAPA.[^video-nc][^apps] The CAPA app covers root-cause analysis and an effectiveness check, and audits have schedules and findings.[^video-capa][^video-audit]

### Change control, complaints, suppliers and DHR

These are add-on apps, each shown in a short product video:

- **Change management and engineering change notices** with impact assessments and e-signatures.[^video-change]
- **Complaints** with investigations, DHR checks and a step for reporting to regulators. We found no eMDR or EU vigilance forms.[^video-complaint]
- **Supplier management** with approval checklists.[^video-supplier]
- **Device history records** with work orders and a NetSuite link.[^video-dhr]

We found no UDI features.

### Design controls and risk

The medical-device page names design control and DHF management.[^devices] We found no design-control app or documentation behind it. Risk management and FMEA apps calculate risk priority numbers for design and process FMEAs, but nothing shows an ISO 14971 risk file or traceability from requirements to tests.[^video-risk][^video-fmea]

## What users say

- **Capterra:** 4.6/5 from 84 reviews, with 4.5/5 for ease of use and 4.7/5 for customer service (checked in a browser, 5 October 2026).[^capterra]
- **G2:** we read 94 reviews from 2016 to 2024 through G2's review feed. Their star ratings average 4.6. G2 blocks our browser, so its headline scores weren't readable.[^g2]

G2 has more reviews, but because we couldn't read its ratings in a browser, we score on Capterra. We'll check G2 again at the next review.

Users mostly praise:

- **Configurability.** Many reviewers like adapting apps without code.
- **Ease of use.** Many call it easy to use.
- **Support.** Most describe the support and implementation teams warmly.[^g2]

Recurring criticism:

- **Configuration learning curve.** Several users report that setting up and changing apps is not intuitive at first.[^g2]
- **Workflow fit for devices.** Two device and pharma reviewers say the out-of-the-box apps don't reflect their workflows.[^capterra]

**Why the ratings may be inflated.** All 84 Capterra review dates were read in October 2026: 22 reviews were posted on a single day, 27 October 2025, and about half arrived in three six-week windows. Five reviewers posted on G2 and Capterra under the same name on the same day, and on the first page of Capterra reviews, 11 of 25 are labelled as invited by the vendor or by Capterra with a small incentive.[^capterra][^g2] Because invited and burst reviews tend to skew positive, our usability, support and sentiment scores are capped at 8 rather than taken at face value.

## Security, hosting and validation

Interneer Inc. holds an ISO/IEC 27001:2022 certificate from Bureau Veritas, valid until 29 December 2026.[^iso27001] The security page names SOC 2 as a framework, but we found no SOC 2 report.[^security]

Intellect runs on AWS by default, and Azure, private cloud and on-premises are also offered.[^deployment] It says customers can choose hosting in the US, Canada or the EU.[^security][^gdpr] It publishes no data processing agreement or subprocessor list. Its privacy policy covers website visitors only.[^privacy]

Validation is a paid service. It includes IQ/OQ/PQ templates, validation protocols and summary reports, with optional continuous validation.[^pricing][^ps]

## Buying and contract terms

- **Trial:** no free trial or sandbox. You get recorded video tours of 22 apps and a live demo on request.[^tour][^capterra-listing]
- **Contract:** the minimum term isn't public. The terms on the website cover the website only and refer to sales and licence agreements that aren't published.[^tos]
- **Leaving:** reports can be exported, but we found no documented way to export all records at the end of a contract.[^dataiq] SOAP and REST APIs are stated, without public documentation.[^connectors]
- **Go-live:** Intellect's only published figure is "4-8 weeks" on average, from a 2019 brochure.[^overview] Each new customer gets an implementation analyst and project manager, and up to 500 documents are imported. Data migrations and customisations are scoped separately.[^journey] One reviewer says go-live took much longer than the sales team said.[^g2-worth]
- **Price increases:** with no public customer terms, we couldn't check for a cap on renewal increases. We found no reports of renewal price hikes.[^g2]
- **If the vendor closes or is sold:** no public terms cover data return, insolvency or escrow.

## Company and ownership

Intellect is the trading name of Interneer, Inc. of Inglewood, California.[^tos] Registry records show Interneer Inc. as a Delaware corporation registered in California. An older California corporation of the same name is listed as merged out.[^opencorporates]

Private-equity firm Strattam Capital bought a majority stake in March 2022, investing over $35 million.[^strattam] In November 2025 Intellect still described itself as backed by Strattam, when it bought UK-based Zaptic.[^zaptic] A new chief executive took over in April 2024.[^ceo] As a private company, Intellect files no public accounts.

## Verdict

Intellect QMS scores 6.7. Manufacturers of physical devices, especially those that also run GxP or EHS processes, should shortlist it if they want a QMS they can configure themselves at a published starting price. Software teams and anyone who needs design controls, a proper risk file or a trial before buying should look elsewhere.
